Today, I had a baseball game. I was a little nervous because this is only my second game and my first year in the town league. My first at bat I struck out. My secone at bat I ripped one up the middle but the shortstop made an excellent play and fired what looked like a 90 mile per hour fastball to the first baseman and he caught it. Also, I was so nervous that a ball was hit to shortstop and he tossed it to me for the force at second but I missed it and that led up to 3 more runs in that inning! I was furious. Overall I was satisfied and I cannot wait for my next game on Monday.

Today, at recess I played make it take it. It is a basketball game that if you shoot the shot and get it in, you get to shoot again. If the person misses, someone can rebound it. I don’t do to well because I am not good at rebounding. I get frustrated with myself. I also practiced playing catch for my first season ever in the town baseball league.

Last Sunday I was awarded the 2008 Child of the Year Award, by the Wellspring Cape Ann Families. It was quite an honor I got a real nice Child of the Year award plaque as well as a gift certificate to go whale watching. It was a very nice day and I felt honored to recieve the award.

Yesterday at school, I got picked on by this one punky kid. I was playing basketball (my favorite hobby) and whenever I missed he yelled, “Air Ball!”. I got very mad. Then when I walked he walked very different and imitated me and made it clear that he was trying to make fun of me. Also, everytime I got the ball, he ran over to me and tryed to whack the ball out of my hand.

Yesterday, was a very special day.  I was invited by Dr. Harry Webster, Chief of Pediatric Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, to speak at a fundraiser in Newton, MA for Melissa & Matthew Bastianelli, two amazing kids who have Cerebral Palsy.  I was honored to be a guest speaker at this event, which was attended by over two hundred of the Bastianelli’s family and friends, and the evening was a great success.  It was so nice to meet Melissa and Matthew, and the entire Bastianelli family.  Melissa and Matthew’s uncle sang a beautiful song in Italian to his niece and nephew, and it was nice to feel a part of such a meaningful event.  I was a little nervous to speak at first, and I was surprised to have received a standing ovation, and even more surprised when the Bastianelli family presented with an “Above and Beyond Award - for outstanding contributions towards expanding awareness of Cerebral Palsy”.  It meant a lot to me, and it made the night even more special.  I was proud to present the Bastianelli family with a check for $300 which was raised for them through ColtonCares.com.  They are a very nice family, and they deserve to have everything they need for Matthew and Melissa.  All in all, it was a great night and a lot of fun.  Thank you to the Bastianelli family, and Dr. Webster for including me in such a special event!  I’ll be posting pictures on my site very soon!

Today, I had Mix-It-Up-Day in school. Mix-It-Up-Day is when you sit with different people at lunch to try and make new friends. It was good. Most of the kids I sat with I already knew. My mom thought something was up because when I came home she smiled at me and I’ve been smirking all day. But nothing is “up” at school.

Today, I was sick which meant I didn’t go to school. All day I was in bed sleeping coughing ALL day. My throat and chest hurts a lot. Also, today is my mom and step-dad’s anniversary. I got them a 1,000 piece puzzle, it should be very hard. Also, my grandmother watched me while my step-dad took my mom out to dinner and to the movies. It was too bad the pats lost, I’m bummed.

Today, I hung out with my friends at school but it was hard to catch up to them sometimes. Also, I went over my cousins house after school. I had a lot of fun with them but I was also tired after. GO PATS!!!

Today, I hung around the house on my computer and watching television. Also, we watched Stuart Little. It was a very good movie. I Instant Messaged my friends for most of the day too. I had a very good, relaxing day.

Today, I got my progress report and I got all S’s (satisfactory). I was happy. Also, at recess, We were running together and I had a hard time staying with the gang. Also, after school my Aunt, Uncle and 3 cousins came over my house. We ran around the house and had a lot of fun.
